Myself Vinod Ravindra Dhangar, stayingat Visteda Village, Dist. Jalgaon, (MH). I stay in a village whose populationis about 20000 and nearly 800-900 families belong to the farming community. Iam 30 years old farmer and did my SSC. My father is doing farming from yearstogether but the type of farming was a traditional one. After my educational carrier,I had decided to help my father and to do the farming in a better way. I amhaving 8 acres of land, in which we use 5 acres of land for growing cotton, andon balance 3 acres another crop like Moong.
Last year Cotton was the main cropgrown and the varieties used were Kaveri, Rasi-659. Although the conditionswere not that suitable for cotton crop but still I could get a yield of 8 to10-q/acre. Other farmers obtained less yield due to local seed varieties usedby them. This year also I will be using Kaveri, Rasi-659.and I am planning tohave distance of 4.00ft x 3. 00ft.In the month of June end sowing of seeds willbe completed on 5 acres of land. For 5 acres of land 375kg of Potash costing Rs.7920/-,375kgof Urea Rs.3000/- and 500kg of 10:26:26 Rs.9500 was used. Seed packets of Rs.700/750,7/8 packets used in 5acre land. Method of drip irrigationwas used and as per the sources there is enough water in tube well for sowingprocess. Plucking charges is of around Rs.4/8 per kg, total costing formfarming in 1acre is Aprox Rs 20000/-per acre.
Price expectation:
*IF RAINS ARE THEREON TIME AND NO DAMAGE TO CROP WITH BETTER YIELD, FARMERS ARE EXPECTING PRICESOF RS 4500/- TO 5000/- PER QTL SAME AS LAST YEAR.
*IF THE RAINS AREDELAYED AND YIELD IS LESS FARMERS ARE EXPECTING RS. 6500/- TO 7000/- AND ABOVEDURING PERIOD OF OCT / NOV & DEC.
