By ICC TEAM - Aug 07, 2017 12:00 AM

Myself Pandurang Ramdas More, staying atAnjanvati Village, Dist; Beed, (MH). I stay in a village whose population is about3000 and nearly 350 families belong to the farming community. I am 35 yearsfarmer and did my 5th Std. My educational carrier I had decided todo the farming in a better way. I am having 16 acres of land, in which we use 5acres of land for growing cotton, 3 acres of land for growing soyabean and onbalance acres other crop like sericulture, udit, tur etc.

Last year Cotton was the maincropgrown and the varieties used were Ajeet-155. Although the conditions were notthat suitable for cotton crop but still I could get a yield of 7 to 8-q/acre.Other farmers obtained less yield due to local seed varieties used by them. This year also I will be using Ajeet-155 and I am planning to have distance of3.50ft x 3. 50ft.In the month of June end sowing of seeds is completed on 5acres of land. For 5 acres of land 500kg of Urea Rs.3200/- ,20kg of magnesiumsulphate Rs.400/- and 500kgof 10:26:26 Rs.11500/- was used. Seed packets of Rs750/800, 7/8 packets used in 5 acres land. Methodof drip irrigation was used and as per the sources there is enough water intube well for sowing process. Plucking charges is of around Rs. 5/6 per kg,total costing form farming in 1acre is Approx. Rs 7000/-per acre.

Price expectation:

*IF RAINS ARE THERE ON TIME AND NO DAMAGE TO CROPWITH BETTER YIELD,FARMERS ARE EXPECTING PRICES OF RS 4500/- TO 5000/- PER QTLSAME AS LAST YEAR.

*IF THE RAINS ARE DELAYED AND YIELD IS LESS FARMERSARE EXPECTING RS.6000/- TO 6500/- AND ABOVE DURING PERIOD OF OCT / NOV &DEC.
