SUCCESS STORY OF FARMER IN MH

By ICC TEAM - Jun 15, 2017 12:00 AM

Myself Suresh Borak Dhangar, staying at Asile Village, Dist;Dhule, (MH). I stay in a village whose population is about 1200 and nearly 300 families belong to the farming community. I am 63 years old farmer and did my 7th class. My father used to do farming from 18years together but the type of farming was a traditional one, to do the farming in a better way I enhanced new techniques of farming. I am having 14 acres of land, in which we use 8 acres of land for growing cotton,6 acres of land for growing papaya.

Last year Cotton was  the main crop grown and the varieties used were rasi-659. Although the conditions were not that suitable for cotton crop but still I could get a yield of10 to 11-q/acre. Other farmers obtained less yield due to local seed varieties used by them. Last years I am also cultivating wheat on a commercial basis. This year also I will be using Rasi-659 and I am planning to have distance of 4.00ft x 2.00ft because to have better yield as well as to sow cereals on the same field. In the month of May end sowing of seeds will be completed on 8 acres of land. For 8 acres of land 1600kg of D.A.P costing Rs 40000/-, 80kg mangnesium & potash Rs 9920/- (Rs 570/- 50kg), 800kg of Urea Rs 4800/-  was used. Seed packets of Rs 700/750, 12/14 packets used in 8 acre land. Method of drip irrigation was used and as per the sources there is enough water in tube well for sowing process. Plucking charges is of around Rs 6/7 per kg, total costing form farming in 1acre is Aprox Rs 14000/-per acre.

Price expectation:

*IF RAINS ARE THERE ON TIME AND NO DAMAGE TO CROP WITH BETTER YIELD, FARMERS ARE EXPECTING PRICES OF RS 4500/- TO 5000/- PER QTL SAME AS LAST YEAR.

*IF THE RAINS ARE DELAYED AND YIELD IS LESS FARMERS ARE EXPECTING RS. 5000/- to 5500/- AND ABOVE DURING PERIOD OF OCT / NOV & DEC.
