Myself Anil Haridas Rathod, staying AtPost-Vasantnagar Village, Dist.Washim, (MH). I stay in a village whosepopulation is about 1500 and nearly 250 families belong to the farming community.I am 47 years farmer and did my B.A. After my educational carrier, I haddecided to help my father and to do the traditional farming in a better way. Iam having 8 acres of land, in which we use 8 acres of land for growing cotton.
Last year Cotton was the maincropgrown and the varieties used were ATM, Bayer-perfect, Brahma. Although theconditions were not that suitable for cotton crop but still I could get a yieldof 15 to16-q/acre. Other farmers obtained less yield due to local seedvarieties used by them. This year also I will be using were ATM, Bayer-perfect,Brahma and I am planning to have distance of 5.00ft x 1. 75ft.In the month ofJune end sowing of seeds is completed on 8 acres of land. For 8 acres of land1200kg of Urea costing Rs.7680/-,200kg of 19:19:19:2.5 water soluble fertilizeris Rs.12000/-and 600kg of 10:26:26 costing Rs.13800/- was used. Seed packets ofRs 750/780, 7/8packets used in 8 acres land. Methodof drip irrigation was used and as per the sources there is enough water intube well for sowing process. Plucking charges is of around Rs 5/7 per kg,total costing form farming in 1acre is Approx. Rs 20000/-per acre.
Price expectation:
*IF RAINS ARE THERE ON TIME AND NO DAMAGE TO CROPWITH BETTER YIELD,FARMERS ARE EXPECTING PRICES OF RS 5000/- TO 5500/- PER QTLSAME AS LAST YEAR.
*IF THE RAINS ARE DELAYED AND YIELD IS LESS FARMERSARE EXPECTING RS.6500/- TO 7000/- AND ABOVE DURING PERIOD OF OCT / NOV &DEC.
