MyselfSitaram Bapurao Hawale, staying at Pothara Village, Dist;Beed, (MH). I stay in a village whose population is about 2500 and nearly 200 families belong to the farming community. I am 28 years old farmer and did my MBA. My father used to do farming from 11years together but the type of farming was a traditional one, to do the farming in a better way I enhanced new techniques of farming. I am having 6 acres of land, in which we use 5 acres of land for growing cotton on balance 1 acres other crop like tur.

Last year Cotton was  the main crop grown and the varieties used were Pravardhan  seed. Although the conditions were not that suitable for cotton crop but still I could get a yield of 8 to 10-q/acre. Other farmers obtained less yield due to local seed varieties used by them. This year also I will be using Pravardhan seed and I am planning to have distance of 3.5ft x 1.5ft. In the month of June end sowing of seeds will be completed on 5 acres of land. For 5 acres of land 750kg of 10:26:26 costing Rs 17250/-, 5000kg Sulphur,calcium,mangnesium Rs.5000/- , 1000kg of Urea Rs.6200/- was used. Seed packets of Rs 750/800  7/8 packets used in 5 acre land. Plucking charges is of around Rs 7/8 per kg, total costing form farming in 1acre is Aprox Rs 20000/-per acre.

Price expectation:
 

*IF RAINS ARE THERE ON TIME AND NO DAMAGE TO CROP WITH BETTER YIELD, FARMERS ARE EXPECTING PRICES OF RS 5000/- TO 5500/- PER QTL SAME AS LAST YEAR.

*IF THE RAINS ARE DELAYED AND YIELD IS LESS FARMERS ARE EXPECTING RS. 6000/- to 6500/- AND ABOVE DURING PERIOD OF OCT / NOV & DEC.
