Andhra Pradesh Agriculture Minister K. Atchannaidu has directed officials to commence cotton procurement across the State from Wednesday through the Cotton Corporation of India (CCI).
The Minister issued instructions to immediately operationalize 30 procurement centres to ensure that farmers do not suffer losses due to the cyclone’s impact and fluctuating market conditions. Mr. Atchannaidu stated that cotton was cultivated over 4.56 lakh hectares in the State during the 2025–26 season, with an estimated yield of nearly 8 lakh metric tonnes. The government would ensure that farmers receive the Minimum Support Price (MSP) of ?8,110 per quintal as fixed by the Centre.
