By ICC TEAM - Jul 10, 2017 5:08 PM

Myself Sagar Ankush Rasal, staying at Manjarsumba Village, Dist; Beed, (MH). I stay in a village whose population is about 2500 and nearly 650 families belong to the farming community. I am 27 years old farmer and did my Bsc-Agri. My father is doing farming from 30years together but the type of farming was a traditional one. After my educational carrier I had decided to help my father and to do the farming in a better way. I am having 3 acres of land, in which we use 3 acres of land for growing cotton.

Last year Cotton was  the main crop grown and the varieties used were JKCH/ Ajeet-155/ Although the conditions were not that suitable for cotton crop but still I could get a yield of 12 to 13-q/acre. Other farmers obtained less yield due to local seed varieties used by them. This year also I will be using JKCH/ Ajeet-155 and I am planning to have distance of 3.50ft x 1.00ft.In the month of June end sowing of seeds is completed on 3 acres of land. For 3 acres of land 150kg of Potash costing Rs 3360/-, 600kg of DAP Rs.10800/- (Rs.900/- 50kg), 175kg of Urea Rs.1925/- and 20kg of Magnesium Sulphate Rs.200 was used. Seed packets of Rs 750/800, 4.5/5 packets used in 3 acre land. Method of drip irrigation was used and as per the sources there is enough water in tube well for sowing process. Plucking charges is of around Rs 4/5 per kg, total costing form farming in 1acre is Aprox Rs 15000/-per acre.
