Myself Arvind Dattatray Patil, staying at Sahardi Village, Dist; Jalgaon, (MH). I stay in a village whose population is about 20000 and nearly 500 families belong to the farming community. I am 42 years old farmer and did my Bsc-Horti. My father is doing farming from 15years together but the type of farming was a traditional one. After my educational carrier I had decided to help my father and to do the farming in a better way. I am having 25 acres of land, in which we use 15 acres of land for growing cotton, 7 acres of land for growing sugarcane and on balance 3 acres other crop like moong dal.
Last year Cotton was the main crop grown and the varieties used were Bayer-ATM/ Ajeet/ Rasi-659. Although the conditions were not that suitable for cotton crop but still I could get a yield of 12 to 18-q/acre. Other farmers obtained less yield due to local seed varieties used by them. This year also I will be using Bayer-ATM/ Ajeet/ Rasi-659 and I am planning to have distance of 5.00ft x 2.00ft.In the month of June end sowing of seeds is completed on 15 acres of land. For 15 acres of land 750kg of Potash costing Rs 17250/-, 375kg of Potassium Rs.13500/- (Rs.900/- 25kg), 1500kg of Urea Rs.10500/- and 1100kg of 10:26:26 Rs.26400 was used. Seed packets of Rs 700/750, 18/19 packets used in 15acre land. Method of drip irrigation was used and as per the sources there is enough water in tube well for sowing process. Plucking charges is of around Rs 6/15 per kg, total costing form farming in 1acre is Aprox Rs 22000/-per acre.
Price expectation:
*IF RAINS ARE THERE ON TIME AND NO DAMAGE TO CROP WITH BETTER YIELD, FARMERS ARE EXPECTING PRICES OF RS 4500/- TO 5000/- PER QTL SAME AS LAST YEAR.
*IF THE RAINS ARE DELAYED AND YIELD IS LESS FARMERS ARE EXPECTING RS. 5000/- TO 6000/- AND ABOVE DURING PERIOD OF OCT / NOV & DEC.
