Myself Kailas Angad Yede, stayingat Anjanvati Village, Dist; Beed, (MH). I stay in a village whose population isabout 3000 and nearly 350 families belong to the farming community. I am 25years farmer and did my 2nd year B.A. My educational carrier I haddecided to do the farming in a better way. I am having 20 acres of land, inwhich we use 9 acres of land for growing cotton, 8 acres of land for growingtur and on balance acres other crop like sugaecane, udit etc.
Last year Cotton was the maincrop grown and the varieties used were Kaveri-Jadoo,ATM,Mahyco. Although theconditions were not that suitable for cotton crop but still I could get a yieldof 12 to 13-q/acre. Other farmers obtained less yield due to local seedvarieties used by them. This year also I will be using Kaveri-Jadoo,ATM,Mahyco andI am planning to have distance of 4.00ft x 2.50ft and 4.00ft x 1.50ft.In themonth of June end sowing of seeds is completed on 9 acres of land. For 9 acresof land 675kg of Urea Rs.4480/- ,45kg of Magnesium sulphate Rs.700/- and 450kgof 10:26:26 Rs.9450/- was used. Seed packets of Rs 720/750, 13/14 packets usedin 9 acres land. Method of drip irrigation wasused and as per the sources there is enough water in tube well for sowingprocess. Plucking charges is of around Rs 5/7 per kg, total costing formfarming in 1acre is Aprox. Rs 20000/-per acre.
Price expectation:
*IF RAINS ARE THERE ON TIME AND NO DAMAGE TO CROPWITH BETTER YIELD, FARMERS ARE EXPECTING PRICES OF RS 4500/- TO 5000/- PER QTLSAME AS LAST YEAR.
*IF THE RAINS ARE DELAYED AND YIELD IS LESS FARMERSARE EXPECTING RS. 5000/- TO 5500/- AND ABOVE DURING PERIOD OF OCT / NOV &DEC.
